Cable covers are always recommended for water cooled TIG torches. They not only protect the lines, but the keep them from getting tangled and kinked, which can potentially limit the coolant and gas flow. For air cooled TIG torches, cable covers are only recommended in harsh environments where there is a danger of the power cable becoming cut, punctured, or burned. The 3-3/4' (94mm) wide cable cover is the standard size for most hand held TIG torches and allows room for a control cable for a fingertip amperage control and/or on/off switch. The length of cable covers is generally intended to be a couple feet shorter than the TIG torch leads. This allows room at the machine for the cables to be stretched to the different ports on the machine and water cooler. Constructed of durable leather with Velcro.
